Clip Studio paint is or was known as Manga Studio outside of Japan, and also emulates traditional painting media like oils, watercolours, etc. They are all just our “tools” to fashion our ideas into the art we want to make.Clip Studio is a graphics suite from Celsys in Japan. Use each program for what it’s really good at, if it gives you what you need.

Coming from the “traditional” world of working by hand I’m a big fan of using specific tools for specific requirements and view the digital world in very much the same way. Many people now seem to want one program to do all things. In this I think it has succeeded admirably so far and will continue to do so. Clip Studio i’ve never used.īut as they all allow you to “paint” then some overlap of features is inevitable I suppose.ĪrtRage’s prime objective was/is to emulate traditional painting media like Oils, Watercolours, etc… in the digital environment and do it in a very user friendly way. Hmm… I’m not sure I would ever compare ArtRage to Photoshop.
